About Me
From addict to intervention coach—I know the way out because I’ve walked it.
My name is Nicholas Griggs, and I’m the founder of Rise and Walk Drug Intervention Support. I spent 17 years of my life addicted to meth and heroin. Eleven of those years, I sold drugs. Two of those years, I sat behind bars in state prison. I know the chaos. I know the darkness. And I know how hard it feels to turn it all around.
In 2013, at 32 years old, I hit a breaking point. Facing prison time—or the very real chance of an overdose—I made the decision to change my life. Leaning into my faith, I walked away from the lifestyle that had been destroying me. The road to freedom wasn’t easy, but step by step, it became real.
Today, I’m clean and free. I no longer struggle with addiction in any form. I’m a husband, a father, debt-free, and the lead pastor of a local church. I also run a faith-based sober living house for men, helping them rebuild their lives after rehab. My life is proof that addiction doesn’t have to be forever—it can be broken.
Why I Do This
I’m not a doctor or a licensed counselor. I’m a life coach who specializes in helping families get their loved ones into detox and treatment through drug interventions. What I bring is something different: experience. I’ve lived it, I’ve walked it, and I’m still in the trenches helping men and families find freedom every day.
I don’t promise miracles, but I do promise this: if we work together, I will do everything I can to break through, guide the process, and give your loved one the best shot at freedom. Addiction is serious business—and I take it very seriously.

What to expect
First consultation is free. Phone call or zoom. We will use that time to connect and to help me understand your needs.
Intervention support package includes me personally walking beside you through one intervention followed up by a weekly 30 minute phone call with your loved one for up to 4 weeks after the intervention. I will help you locate the right program for your loved one as well as help you come up with the best strategy for how we should conduct the intervention. I will use my prior experience with addiction as well as my experience working with addicts as our guide.
My goal is to create a space of trust, understanding, and support. If you have any questions or preferences, please feel free to share them—I’m here for you!
If you would like me to talk about my faith I can do that as well. This is optional. My goal is simply to guide your loved one to the help that they need.
